Come celebrate at the library!
Yarn lovers, come gather with us! Let's create community and visibility around the craft we love. Join us to knit in the lobby or out in front of the library, depending on the weather. Interested in learning to knit? We'll have someone to teach you on hand! Plus there will be free yarn for the taking!
More about the celebration:
"Far too many people think of knitting and crocheting as archaic hobbies that don’t have a place in today’s highly technical world. And yes, many still picture a granny in a rocking chair bent over her work. Combatting this image and a perceived need for knitters to come together and enjoy each other’s company were behind Danielle Landes’ creation of World Wide Knit in Public Day (WWKIPDAY) in June 2005."
Overlooking the Animas River, the Durango Public Library and Botanical Gardens is one of the most popular gathering spots in our community.
