Join us at a fun reception to honor local writers who submitted their work to the Page One writing contest this year.

Swing by the library anytime in May to read and enjoy the entries of the 2026 Page One Writing Contest while they are on display in the program rooms. You can also join us for this special reception celebrating participants that will include readings by the winners of the contest. 

In November of 2022, we set up a contest for local writers and asked the community to send us their best first page. From the submissions, a panel of judges were to pick four winning pages to be read on the Page One Radio Program.  The Contest was a success and garnered over 100 original and unique entries. The authors, who represented a variety of ages, genders, cultures, and experiences submitted a multitude of genres including poetry, fantasy, memoir, historical fiction, and more.  2026 was our 4th year running the contest! 

You can catch the Page One Radio Program when it airs weekly on on local radio stations KSUT Mondays 9:30 a.m. & Saturdays 7:56 a.m. and KDUR Fridays 11:45 a.m. & Sundays 10:30 a.m.
